Marine Mammal Active Sonar
A version of HF/M3 has been developed to be used for development and testing of active sonar systems to protect marine mammals. We refer to this version as the MAST (Marine Mammal Active Sonar Test) Mechanical System. It is not integrated in SURTASS LFA and is meant to be deployed from a stationary vessel.
